"I worked with Ozzy at the ArtCenter College of Design Library for two years as a part of the Design, Affairs and Media (DAM) team. He is a wonderful collaborator. His enthusiasm is infectious, and he has the kind of personality that can effectively encourage buy-in from the group he is working with. Working in a team environment, his insight on the student perspective was invaluable in planning displays, events, promotions, and social media posts for the Library. He worked diligently on the Library 2020 branding celebration. He creatively planned and executed numerous displays in the Library such as Pride Month, Black Lives Matter and Banned Books Week, addressing relevant social topics. He also initiated a program to display student-designed prototypes in the Library and tied them back to the Library collections that provided research information and inspiration to those students, effectively emphasizing the value of the materials and services to student success. In addition, being a member of the DAM Team provided experience with managing projects and meeting deadlines. Ozzy is also a strong communicator. He hosted a Pride Month trivia night event and was an engaging speaker. He also took the lead in organizing a virtual panel discussion on sustainable materials that gave students from all majors the opportunity to share in information that could contribute to their creativity and success as future designers. Successful leaders help their employees grow to prepare their institution for the future, and Ozzy exemplifies this trait and desire, positioning him to be an influential agent for change. Ozzy also honed his leadership qualities as a part of ArtCenter’s Student Government and received the Student Leadership Award upon graduation.
